From download
to your first revision.
Set up your Mac, connect your editor, and try a small change with the included practice files.
A private preview for your Mac.
This download is for Apple silicon Macs (M1 or newer). It targets macOS 13 or later; current testing was on macOS 26. Intel Macs and earlier macOS versions have not been validated for this build.
The Premiere panel currently declares support for Premiere Pro 26.5–26.9. Local editor checks use 26.5.2. The Resolve panel requires DaVinci Resolve Studio and its Workflow Integrations SDK; local checks use Studio 21. These are preview compatibility limits, not a guarantee for every editor version.
Keep your original media and projects. Try the included practice files before using client work. This preview is ad-hoc signed, not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized.
Your invitation opens the door.
- Open your invitation, choose Create your account, and use Google or email. With email, finish the verification message.
- In Your license, redeem the private promo code supplied by Jordan. No payment card is needed for complimentary lifetime access.
- Download the Mac ZIP and expand it. Keep its First-Revision, Plugins, and Open-Source folders.
- Drag PatchRender.app to Applications, then open it. If macOS blocks the private preview, review the app in System Settings → Privacy & Security and use the per-app Open Anyway control only if you trust this download. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally. Contact support if macOS reports a damaged app.
- In your website account, choose Get personal activation key and confirm. Paste that key into Activate PatchRender in the app within one hour. Activation needs an internet connection.
Your promo code creates your account’s license. The separate activation key authorizes a computer. Personal access allows up to 30 days offline after a successful online check. An event activation lasts up to 72 hours; its email shows the exact deadline.
Friday becomes Saturday.
The kit includes an original, 60-second practice video and a prepared four-second replacement. This is a guided synthetic exercise, not a speed benchmark.
- Create a project in PatchRender using First-Revision/Practice-Master.mp4 as your master. Name it My first revision.
- Import Practice-Patch-28-32.mov. It changes the event card from FRIDAY / 7 PM to SATURDAY / 7 PM.
- Place the patch on the video track at 00:00:28:00 for four seconds. In the editing workspace, select the source, choose Place at playhead, then select the clip and set Start frame = 672, Source in = 0, and Source out = 96. These values are for this 24 fps exercise only. Confirm placement if prompted.
- Enable Video Patch and choose Keep master audio. Select Render new revision.
- Play the revised output across 28–32 seconds. Confirm SATURDAY / 7 PM appears, the surrounding motion continues, the duration remains one minute, and the audio is unchanged. Use Export current output… to save a copy.
If your window shows the original project workflow, import the same patch, confirm its embedded 28-second placement, and run the selected visual patch with Preserve Master Audio. Do not use frame values from this example for a different frame rate.
Stay close to your timeline.
Premiere Pro
- Close Premiere. In Plugins/Premiere, open Install Premiere Panel.command. Review the destination and type INSTALL. An existing PatchRender panel is backed up before replacement.
- Restart Premiere and open Window → Extensions (Legacy) → PatchRender. Some versions label this menu Extensions.
- If the panel is absent, contact support before changing Adobe’s extension-security settings. This private panel is unsigned; the installer deliberately does not enable unsigned CEP loading for other panels. You can still use the desktop practice workflow above.
DaVinci Resolve Studio
- Close Resolve. In Plugins/Resolve, open Install Resolve Panel.command and type INSTALL. macOS may request administrator permission for Resolve’s shared plug-in folder.
- The installer uses the Workflow Integration component supplied by your own Resolve Studio installation. If the SDK is missing, it stops without changing the existing panel.
- Restart Resolve Studio and open Workspace → Workflow Integrations → PatchRender.
Try the same change from either editor
- Create a new 1920 × 1080, 24 fps practice timeline starting at 00:00:00:00. Put Practice-Master.mp4 at its beginning and save the project.
- Put Practice-Patch-28-32.mov on the video track above it at 00:00:28:00. Keep the master’s audio.
- In the PatchRender panel, select Link Master and choose Practice-Master.mp4. Confirm that the displayed project and timeline match.
- Mark In at 00:00:28:00 and Out on 00:00:31:23, the final included frame. Keep Video Patch on and audio changes off.
- Choose Patch In/Out, select a new output file, and wait for completion. Check the same picture, sound, and duration points from the desktop exercise.
The panels use a local connection to PatchRender, which must be installed and activated. A successful desktop practice render alone does not verify your editor’s export pipeline.
