Your account and device data.
What this service stores
PatchRender stores your email address, account and login records, license entitlement, activation history, and the email preferences you choose. Password accounts use salted password hashes. Google sign-in uses your Google account identifier and verified email; PatchRender does not receive your Google password.
The application creates a device key for activation. The service stores its public identifier so it can recognize an authorized computer. Your device’s private key stays on that device. The clean download does not contain another customer’s activation or projects.
Why we use it
These records let you sign in, redeem an invitation, activate and move your license, recover account access, and manage personal and event computers. Short-lived request limits help protect account and activation endpoints from abuse.
Your videos stay local
The licensing service does not receive your video files, audio, project contents, or editing timelines. Account and activation requests communicate licensing information, not your media.
Email and service providers
Google processes Google sign-in when enabled. Resend delivers account verification and password-reset messages when configured. OpenAI Sites and its hosting infrastructure provide website and database services and may keep operational access logs. These services process the information needed for their part of the workflow.
Product updates and promotional emails are optional and separately selected. You can change those preferences from your account. Necessary account and license emails are separate from marketing.
Aggregate website activity
Public pages send a small first-party page-view count after loading. We record the UTC day, public page path, broad referral category, and whether the page is viewed at a mobile or desktop width. We do not use analytics cookies, visitor identifiers, fingerprints, full referrer URLs, or query strings. Account, activation and owner pages are excluded. The browser’s Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable this collection. Counts can include repeat visits and are not unique visitors.
For support and security, we also record successful download responses, licensing checks, email submission outcomes and owner changes. A download response does not prove installation; email acceptance does not prove inbox delivery. Owner actions are recorded with a reason. These records are available only to authorized administrators.
Cookies and retention
Secure account cookies maintain your sign-in and protect verification flows. We retain account, license and device-history records to operate and support your access. Contact support@patchrender.com to request help accessing, correcting or deleting account information; deleting an account also affects its license access.
Affiliate referrals · coming soon
The affiliate program is not open yet, and referral tracking is disabled. When enabled, a referral landing page will ask whether to remember the referral. Choosing yes will save a secure first-party cookie for up to 30 days. A new account can then be associated with the referring partner. We will store the referral, campaign label, and commission accounting records needed to credit eligible subscription payments and adjustments. Affiliates will see counts and their own commission records, not your name, email, payment details, or videos.
A referral choice is separate from your optional news and promotional email preferences. Clearing the cookie before registration prevents that browser referral from being connected; after registration, the account association is stored on the server.
Offline authorization
A personal computer can use a previously issued authorization for up to 30 days offline. Event authorizations end after 72 hours. A disconnected computer cannot receive a remote device switch until it reconnects or its authorization expires.
